Schwantesia is a genus of the family Aizoaceae (Aizoaceae). The botanical genus name honors the German Professor of Prehistory and Early History and botanist Gustav Schwantes.
Description
The plants of the genus grow Schwantesia compact with many branches, each of which carries a tuft of leaves. Are the gray to bluish green, triangular shaped leaves with initial symmetrical.
They are usually wider than thick and can have toothed edges. Your leaf surface often feels stingy.
The solitary flowers are on short stems and are apparently hochblattlos. There are five sepals present. The petals are bright yellow and white at the base often. Filamentous staminodes are absent.
The stamens form a central pillar. The coronary nectaries form a ring. The capsule fünffächrigen fruits contain more or less pear-shaped seeds from 0.65 to 0.9 mm long and 0.45 to 0.6 millimeters wide.
